Hello I have my ball python in a 4x2x2 but it is a wooden enclosure the one I chewy so I don’t think I can use a heat mat. He has not eaten at all since moving him in 2 and a half months ago he is a grown retired adult male. It’s winter in Michigan and the heat gun only gets around 78 and and at the basking spot high 80s to 90s and at night it’s 70 into 67. He had trouble eating before I have 3 night 75 wat lights and one 100 watt day bulb I dont how it’s so cold. I have had problems with him eating before But then we found out he had mites when we got him after treating him he ate like a champ but I have growing concerns
For one thing his enclosure looks too bare. You should add some more hides, fake plants and maybe some cork bark. Clutter it up in other words. The way it is now he may not feel secure enough to eat.
Your temps sound ok to me. The humidity should be 50 to 60 percent. Others will have advice but I would start with the cluttering up first because if you change too much at once it may cause more harm than good.
Also don’t attempt to feed too often or you might stress him. Wait a week in between. Remember, if he was eating before he will eat again.
Good luck
I had live plants in there but I for lack of better words murder them any recommendations on live plants or should I just stick to fake
For the time being I would stick with the fake foliage along with more hides, cork bark etc. The main objective is to get him eating again so clutter clutter clutter!
