Ball python shedding

Got a baby pastel. I got her in July. She shed a week after getting her.

She’s since doubled in size/weight. But hasn’t entered another shed cycle.

She eats. Uses the restroom. Explores.

I’ve brought this up to a buddy and he said take her to a vet. I’m here for second or 3rd opinions.

Thanks.

How old was she when you got her?

Don’t worry about it too much, each snake is on their own timeline. You might also have just not noticed a shed, especially if you have substrate. Some snakes end up crumpling their shed into a tight ball which might be accidently thrown away or lost when cleaning).

Ok thanks. Was concerned because she’s the only snake I’ve ever seen not shed for so long even tho she’s gotten so much larger

Agree. As long as they are growing and doing everything else right I wouldn’t worry about a shed timeline

I don’t know that this is a cause, but snakes sometimes delay shedding if they don’t have enough moisture. If your humidity is low and/or you don’t have a water dish that could be a factor. But, it’s likely just normal.

She was born in May if I recall. But she’s just entered a shed cycle since yesterday.

Thanks for all the replies. She’s finally entered a cycle since posting this… coincidence lol.
