Question…
I have a male banana - leopard bp… I would like to breed within the next year.
What would you suggest, be a good pairing? Thought about something with clown? Suggestions…

If you want to do something with clown, then I suggest you buy a visual clown female that is either ready to breed or a proven breeder. Either a Mojave or Spotnose Clown might go well with your male and will have some pretty nice patterns both in het and in visual forms. If you breed him to a visual clown then everything produced will be het. Since your goal is to produce clowns eventually, then you may want to consider picking up a second female at the same time that is either het for clown or visual clown. It can be a hatchling or a couple hundred grams now because it will take at least two years or more from now for your first pairing to produce a male and you grow it up to breeding maturity size. By then, the second female should be ready.
These are just a couple of suggestions. You really want to find what you like and then set the goal. Go on the site here and look at clown combos that contain Leopard, Banana, or both. Pick something you love and then find the complimentary female. Best of luck.

One combo I like… I saw a banana- leopard-clown was produced, and the colors looked great. Instead of the purplish colors with the yellow. The colors were an orangish color (in the patterns)
I reached to see what the pairing was… but never got a response back.

Everyone has their own tastes but I like combos of dark and light morphs. Leopard for dark and banana for light is already a good start. As mentioned before you will need an extra generation to produce clowns (because it’s recessive and you need it in both sides). Maybe also consider blackhead, chocolate, or even GHI in your clown female if you can find one in your price range. I hatched a blackhead leopard this year and really like that combo. Imagine it would be really nice in banana.
