Bearded Dragon 120gal enclosure is complete!

After a week of airing out after its completion, we made the big move last night to transfer our Mirage out of her old 40gal growout enclosure into her permanent 120gal home.

It was a lot of work that costed my hubby a slight back injury (just muscle strain, he’s ok!) The enclosure is set up and fully complete. Mirage took to it very well! Last night she climbed up all the way to the very top left ledge of the enclosure and slept there the whole night.

Today I picked up some succulents and an aloe plant to add in, and since it is winter, Mirage decided to make herself comfy under one of her ledges and is possibly now in full brumation mode.

Thankfully that gives the few plants I added some time to establish.

Overall I’m very happy with how this whole project turned out. I learned some new techniques for enclosure building thanks to @kabre and I hope to apply them to future projects, and now I have an empty 40gal to turn into something awesome… but for now we are giving Mirage time to adjust to her new home and hopefully once she’s out of brumation she’ll be able to explore more and become comfortable with her new large space

A quick fyi, your plant is not an aloe, it is a haworthia. Aloe are new world. Haworthia is african. And toxic.

Oml thank you for saying something, I had no idea… the garden shop I went to labeled them as Aloe plants :smiling_face_with_tear::woman_facepalming:

I’ll take it out and see about finding an actual Aloe plant.

Sorry for waking a sleeping thread, but if you can find a spineless prickly pear cactus, I’ve heard these are great for beardie enclosures because the beardies can eat the young soft paddles
