Hello everyone! I’m looking for some help and advice on BEL’s. I’m in the process of choosing my next BP and want a BEL that is as white as possible. I’ve already done some research on the genetics that create the whitest BEL’s but I’m confused on the combos of the 3 I’m choosing from. I’m not a breeder, so this type of thing sometimes goes above my head.
So the 2 BEL’s I’m currently choosing between are:
Special Mojave x Lesser Mojave
Lesser pastel x ghi pastel hypo ← (realized this is doesn’t make sense after posting but leaving it so some of the responses make sense)
Super Lesser x ?
All look perfectly white as babies of course, but what I’m not sure about is which one is most likely to show signs of yellow as they age. I want the BEL I choose to have the best possible chance at staying as white as possible. I’ve tried searching for info on this but can’t seem to find anything on the specific combos.
Hi and welcome to the community
There is a thread somewhere where Black eyed are recommended.
However I think the blood line makes a difference too.
I suggest going to morphmarket and searching the different types.
Select for age and not just available and not just your area and have a look.
I have one very white 2018 Blue eyed bell that has not yellowed and one younger that’s not so nice,
Edit
Do you mean the offspring of this pairing? Because if you ended up with a Special Mojave it’s a patterned snake.
Lesser Mojave or super Mojave will be white but yeah, they can yellow over time.
So these are some of my own snakes:
Special Mojave (enchi pastel as well)
The super Mojave has become a pale shade of yellow.
Lesser Mojave looked lighter but still some yellowing.
The whitest as stated would be a super fire with no yellow spots… Or otherwise a high white pied.
