Best Cooler for Brumating Hoggies

Well since October is already past the halfway point and my male Hognose snake is up to weight for breeding and is starting to go off of food, I was going to set up my old jerry-rigged mini fridge to brumate the pair that I’ve used in the past to brumate Brooksi Kings…

But the thing is completely shot. We tried to see if it was a refrigerant issue, but it seems like something electrical instead- so I’m looking at buying a wine cooler thats reliable instead.

Is there any reccomended wine cooler to buy specifically for brumating snakes or is any wine cooler with manual temp control ok? Is asking for a type of wine cooler for brumating ok with Community Guidelines? If not I’ll take the post down.

Edit to add:

I’m also not looking for something that large, Thélyss and Peaches are probably going to be the only Hoggies I breed unless one of them has issues with breeding.

I would check out fb marketplace. Anything on the smaller side should do. I don’t think brand matters so much just make sure it can get to the temps you need before taking it home. My first wine cooler was a 24 bottle I think? And got it for $50 another town over. It ran great and lasted me four years. It had a dial so I used a thermometer inside and would just take it down a notch every few days until it was at temp. The one I have now is digital so that’s a lot easier obviously, but I still use a thermometer just in case.

Welp my hubby snagged me another mini fridge for cheap. Its pretty beaten up and dusty but its only cosmetic damage- it cools just fine :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Going to get it running for a few weeks to make sure temps don’t fluctuate too much and nothing else goes wrong.
