Trying a weird feeding trick for the non-feeders tonight. Pan-seared pinkies! I have this tiny cast iron pan so I don’t have to heat up and clean a full size one. I’ve done boiled pinkies for picky babies in the past, but I figure lightly searing them will produce a different smell. It probably won’t work anyway, but thought I’d share.

If that works you could be starting a new trend!

Sadly, no one wanted their delicious little pinkie sausages!

This is one of the non-feeders, Gobstopper. He shed last night. I don’t think he’s one of the red factor ones. Thankfully he hasn’t really lost weight.

Awwwwwww. What is your next plan of action? He’s such a cute little Gobstopper! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::heart:

Just continuing trying and retrying different tricks, with the occasional force feeding or tube feeding to keep him alive. Not my favorite thing, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable letting a healthy baby die just because they don’t like the food options I’ve offered.

Yes I totally agree about persistence. I also agree with the tube feeding as well. There is definitely an art to it. My vet uses a high caloric wet high quality prescription dog food. It’s made by Royal Canin and it’s called Recovery.

Tiny babies like that need an extra boost if all else fails. Here’s to little baby Gobstopper! He’s in good hands! :+1::heart::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Pan seared pinkies, that’s a good idea. I’m willing to try most anything with the challenging ones. Maybe I’ll try this next. Hmmm, wonder what my cats and dogs will think of that scent? You have four-legged pets, right @solarserpents ?

I second this. Gobstopper is definitely in good hands.

I do. I have a cat and a dog. They didn’t seem to react to the smell any more than regular food cooking.

That makes sense. I didn’t really think about it that way, but I suppose to them, food cooking is food cooking.

No babies out overnight, but I did get two new pips - really neat ones too! First up is a very nicely patterned sunkissed head.

And then there’s this one, and any of you Star Wars fans might recognize the head pattern.

The Rebel Legion! I’m not sure yet what name theme I’ll go with for this clutch, but this one will probably have to be Rebel.
