Can anyone tell me the morph of this recent rescued blood python? TIA!
I could absolutely be wrong but it looks a little more like a sumatran short tail to me. But could absolutely be a normal phase/wild type blood. I’m not very experienced with short tails and bloods but yeah…
Better photos in natural light like near a window work best for ID photos as well.
If the anterior parietal scales are in broad contact on the midline of the head and the eye touches the supralabials it is brongersmai(blood). If the eye is separate from the lip by a thin line of scales that is breitensteini(borneo). Curtus (sumatran)have their anterior parietals in contact point to point and a fine line of scales separating the lip from the eye.
To me, it appears to be a blood but would need close up head and face pics.
How big is the snake? How old approximately? To me it looks like a young blood that hasn’t started to color up yet.
Oh that’s super handy! Bookmarking that info
