Boa Constrictor Imperator Starting Hook Training

It’s me again! I’ve been doing a lot of research into getting myself a female boa constrictor imperator since last year! One part of my research has been hook training!
I’ve been looking at using hook training. I’ve found a lot on maintaining hook training, but I’d like to know if there’s anything I should be doing to start hook training.
(Basically, I know how to continue to renforce the command to sit for my dog, but I’m unsure how to teach the “sit” command to a new dog. If that makes sense.)

Also, if you have any other advice for a beginner on boas, let me know! Thankee kindly!

Implementing hook training is a very good thing, I do hook training with all of my snakes.

The benefit of breaking the food response for the animals not only helps you avoid a bite, but has the added benefit for the snake, reducing chances of hurting themselves throwing strikes that could result in losing teeth.

I suggest getting a pocket hook for when they are little, so you have finer control of how you tap, hook, move things about etc.

Pocket hook for control…gotcha!
And yeah, while I don’t really enjoy the thought of getting bitten, (I have no idea who would enjoy being bitten) I’m more worried about my boa breaking their teeth off than a couple of tiny puncture wounds on my arm.
