Boa Constrictors!

@neptunes Only time will tell. I do see a slight hint of yellow when she gets super light phased. However, the pictures I’ve seen of mature animals from her specific line don’t seem to have much yellow/brown at all. We’ll find out in a few years.

@tommccarthy What a bunch of little stunners! I love the colors on those and they are so clean.

Hope that every one has a good holiday, just wanted to say thank you to every person that’s reached out to me with any type of advice or help or a suggestion in the right direction to take care of my Animals.:black_heart::black_heart:

I learn something new everyday!!!

That’s why I love it here too! I used to be much more active, but nothing super interesting has happened to me these last few months (Except for my attempt at owning a snake…) so I’ve just been lurking:)

I haven’t really shared this because I had no idea if it would be successful with Rocket being on the younger end of the sexual maturity spectrum for male boas. I paired them up the weekend after thanksgiving and Babs went into a shed about a week after introducing them so I separated them. She finally shed on 12/16 and I reintroduced them at that time. They’ve been inseparable since then and just last night I witnessed Rocket doing his first “surfing”. You can see in the pic he still needs to figure out which end his tail is supposed to go. :joy:

Looks promising but we’ll see if he is able to get the job done.

the size difference is insane, she is so much bigger!
Hopefully he gets the job done!

@indiflare It is quite comical. She’s not exactly huge but he’s only 3-3.5’ long, and pretty lean, so he looks tiny next to her. Especially the head size comparison.

@eorr53

Looks promising. I wish you the best.

I put my boa’s together in mid-September to early October and leave them together until February. Only separating them for feeding. Then, reintroduce them 3 days after they eat.

All females get smaller than normal rats to eat when breeding. Most of my females still eat when gravid. Most will stop just before giving birth.

I don’t remember what your two boas genetic are?

@tommccarthy Thanks Tom! I did take the opportunity to feed them when I split them up for Babs shed. They both hammered the rats. I waited to pair them since Rocket is still young and I got a late start on cooling them. They’ve been together for about a total of 3 weeks at this point. He’s spent the majority of the time curled up with her but just recently started doing the “surfing”.

Genetics are:

Rocket - IMG Hypo Jungle Aztec Pink Panther 66% het VPI pos het Anery T1

Babs - VPI Pink Panther (no hets to my knowledge)

Had Venus out yesterday, and she did not want to kill me. She even let me remove stuck shed from her tail.

@tommccarthy it’s like she knows she’s pretty and can get away with it. :joy:

Love her tail color.

That DH hypo jungle is crazy clean, Matt. Great looking group!

Looks like a killer pairing @eorr53! Hopefully Rocket gets the job done for you and proves out VPI. should be some great looking babies either way

@smite Thanks Matt! It was up and down to start. He seemed easily distracted like a small kid when I first introduced them a few weeks back. I found him perched on the RHP cord like a GTP python one morning, little goober. Lately though he seems more persistent and focused. He may still be too young but we’ll see.

Also, even if the VPI doesn’t prove, they should still produce some nice pastels with IMG, Aztec, and Jungle all in the mix and het VPI for the future.

Aww, Rocket’s first girlfriend. I hope he can get it done, those would be some spectacular babies! :star_struck:
