Boa Constrictors!

Cool, but I still like your babies better.

Thanks man.
I’ve just got an obsession with SQT, wish they were more popular/available in the hobby. There’s a few incomplete dominant genes that do similar patterns so I think people tend to gravitate towards those.

They are probably more popular than given credit because of the difficulty of identifying and then selling something with a guaranteed genetic trait. That same difficulty puts downward pressure on price when you can create something similar with less difficulty and sell for a fraction of the cost. I personally cant tell much of a difference from SQT traits to something with awesome tail coloration and fat square saddles. They both could be SQT but I dont know and lack of testing/breeding differences make that difficult to proove out. I feel that you could achieve the same thing through poligenic traits without needing the recessive gene. However, it may benefit you in the long run to have that trait because of the progression of shed testing and increasing awareness/discuv of variouse morphs in red tail boas.

That’s what I love about this hobby, one keeper could take or leave a trait and another is obsessed with that very trait haha. I have a vision for them I want to pursue, add to all that wild color and bolden up the pattern through selective breeding. Keep them simple, bold and colorful

Nothing simple about what you got. It took a long time to get stuff looking that good available to people like us. We are spoiled and I am so greatful because its awesome whats available to us these days.

Cant wait to see what you come up with. Make sure to show us pictures.

@tommccarthy is good at making simple look top notch. Love those motleys. Hopefully, you make some purple sunsets and add motley into it soon.

Adon87 I do plan on making purple sunset motley next year. In October I will be breeding one or both of these girls. They are my 50% Northern Brazilian BCC X 50 % Colombian BCI het albino. Both are motley and one is also a jungle.

I will be breeding them to their brother who is a 50% Northern Brazilian BCC X 50 % Colombian BCI hypo jungle het albino. He is the one I used last year to make my 25% NB BCC high pink / purple baby. So with any luck next years babies should be better looking as they will be 50 % NB BCC.

Matt tulip is a very nice pastle boa. Love her bright red tail. She might have some BCC in her as it looks like she has 20 to 21 saddles to the vent. She would be good to add to your coral albinos in the future. And my purple sunglow AKA purple sunsets after I get one for you. Adon87 came up with the name and it’s growing on me.

Thank you Caron!

Thanks Tom. She’s from Summit, Keller and EBV Red Group lines. I believe she’s supposed to be pure Colombian but there’s always a chance haha. I agree. Part of me wants to just do some straight pastel no hets but her sides would look killer in Kahl form.

That’s a good and well fitting name for that line too. I like it

@tommccarthy I noticed the ones that do not have coral type of polygenic traits stay whiter but they do get more yellow. The coral lines tend to stay more creamy and not so intense in the yellows if they show polygenic trate. I find them more subtle in the yellow because of the subtle overlay of color versus sharp contrast and saturation of white/yellow. My opinion may change after I produce more of my own but this is what I have typically seen in other collections.
