I do not currently have a boa, but I wish to get one in 2022, and I’m planning ahead for the enclosure, so I’d love to see y’all’s enclosure for inspiration!
@lumpy show off your vivs!
I second that!
I only have one right but here is Kai’s
I love jungle themes because I love plants
Willows is coming on the 5th❗️
If you can tell I love foliage. I use blossom for fake plants.
Here is my response to when people say boas don’t like to climb when they get bigger
I am currently second guessing my choice on buying a hognose in a few days. This makes me want a boa so bad.
@flrt-dennis I’d love to see your boa setups!
Lol, don’t get the hog and get the boa, you won’t regret it. Trust me I’m an unbiased source.
All we have right now is a simple 40 breeder with coconut husk. Im getting some 6’ PVC enclosures in the near future from the breeder when he gets a few new ones in. I really enjoy viewing our snakes as they are pretty active but long term, glass is hard to maintain humidity.
I concur with lumpy.
Boas are the best lol
I see you also got bamboo in your enclosure. Boas no matter the size love to climb even if it is only a few inches off the ground.
She loves that piece of driftwood, I always get a kick seeing her climb around on it. It shows her muscle tone.
I love seeing Kai use his too. Also boas are pretty active lol. I find that mine love to explore their enclosures. They are very confident.
I agree, boas are always semi arboreal. When I get my boa next year I’m gonna start with a juvenile, but one it’s adult size, I’m gonna house it in a 5’ x 3’ x 3’ enclosure and I’m for sure getting some good logs for it to climb on.
Here is an old picture of a cage I made a long time ago. I gave it to my Veterinarian for his snakes a few years ago.
Well that didn’t work as planned. Here is bad picture of the same cage. Now I keep all my boas in rack systems.
I would like to say wow about that boa! He is gorgeous.
He is a she. Unfortunately she died with over 50 babies in her many years ago. I have had two boas over 50 lbs die with babies in them. This is why I don’t breed really big boas any more. I like them in the 20 to 30 lbs for breeding.
Lumpy you should post a link to the post about the living room cage pictures. Now those are some nice setups.
