BP pairing update, pre lay shed?

October 2nd was my first time pairing Ball Pythons, Jango (1.0 Banana Mystic Pastel) x Nobara (0.1 Banana Cinnamon Lesser/Butter). October 3rd I caught them in a lock.

They stayed together for a few more days until I noticed Jango had lost interest so I separated them and had planned to pair them again in a month and continue on that routine until Nobara ovulated. However I had noticed growth in the lower 3rd of her body October 17th that I at the time believed to be her “ovulation”, I was surprised at the time because it seemed to be too early for her to ovulate. Turns out this was just follicle building!

It was 2 weeks before this point that Nobara lost complete interest in eating and has not taken a meal since. She did not go cool seeking at all but I kept a close eye on her checking in on her 2x a day until October 29/30th she became incredibly enlarged and swollen on the lower 3rd of her body, ovulation!

I realized at that point that the growth I had noticed over 10 days prior was the egg follicle building process. But now I knew at least an estimated time frame of ~30 days before she would lay eggs.

Well now on day 20 post ovulation Nobara has gone into blue… I assumed based on the 30 day time frame she would be due to lay next Thursday but I’ve read now that they might go through a pre-lay shed which means egg laying may happen in 25-30 more days post shed.

I know since this is her first time breeding that there would be a chance that she’d reabsorb the eggs but she has shown no such signs of doing so, she still has a significant enlargement in the lower 3rd of her body and she’s been very irritable these past few days.

I guess I’m just wondering if anyone can offer insight to what I should expect in these next few weeks? If she is in pre-lay shed should I expect to be waiting another month or so? I currently have a camera in her enclosure monitoring her at all times with motion detection set on its maximum sensitivity so I can see everything that happens. Getting very excited about all of this!
