I just bought an arcadia uvb light for my snake and when you turn it on initially it seems fine. After about 20-30 minutes it starts flicking (as seen in video). If I turn if off then back on it goes away (for 20-30 minutes then it starts flickering again) Is this something that can be fixed or should I just return it? Just spent a decent amount on it so pretty disappointed. (I bought another and it is doing the exact same thing, tried different outlets throughout the house and same result).
So the main 3 things to check would be the following:
Make sure the bulb is fully seated. This one is one I would see a lot with ballast seated bulbs. Usually you get a good click out of them when they’re in tight. A lot of people worry they’ll break the bulb or just don’t fully close it.
Make sure the power cord is securely attached. I’ve also used canned air to make sure there wasn’t anything trapped to keep the contact from seating properly
Check the fuses. Depending on the ballast there’s sometimes different parts but iirc the arcadia is a little hatch on its plug. I would usually have mine on a surge protector so this was rare for me
