Hi! I’ve been extensively researching toads for about five years. I really want to get into breeding them, particularly cool morphs like albino and leucistic. I wanted to know if anyone had any tips on how to start researching genetics, because most places I find really only focus on documenting boa morphs.
I don’t mean the basics of breeding toads, I mean a community/forum/website like MorphMarket but more centered on toads if that makes sense? They have very interesting skin color combinations that I’d love to experiment with.
Here’s my sweet albino girl for froggy tax. I bought her from a breeder a few years back.
Oh my goodness she is so lovely! I have a thing for toads myself! As far as recommending other forums, that is not permitted here per MM community guidelines. But you might try the CB side of this forum. Just click on the red figure 8 at the top of this page.
Good luck!
Edit to add: Sorry but I don’t know the technical term for the figure 8 btw!
What a charming creature! I can’t help with anything but creature appreciation. Community appreciation, too. Folks here do love every kind of creature on God’s good Earth. @logar, are you around? Logan is a big fan of frogs and toads. He may have ideas to share.
PS - @caron, the old teacher in me wants you to know that the “sideways 8” is known in math as a lemniscate. It’s also commonly called an infinity symbol.
