Bumblee ball python

This Bumblebee was yellow when he was smaller, now is completely white and black. How does this happen?

I recall seeing a similar post of someone’s Pied BP with yellow turning white seemingly out of nowhere after a shed… I’d link it if I could remember it. Did this happen gradually over a few sheds?

What was the pairing for this one?

Every now and then this sort of thing pops up. If this little one is from a Hypo Pied line there’s a chance it could be one of the ‘blue steel’ snakes.
It was a group of animals that around a year or so would turn slate gray/blue toned. The downside was that it just happened spontaneously. It couldn’t be replicated like say the spider or pastel genes. And that would mean you would have to keep the entire clutch and hope to see the change.

I currently have a SD reticulated python with calico on both sides of his parents. It’s the same phenomenon. Hopefully one day he’ll shed and start becoming more white. Lol. It’s slightly more reliable than this almost Axanthic look in BPs, but still no real way to tell

I don’t know if you are happy with the black and white but I think you have a really nice looking BP!!! B
