Ive had ball pythons for a while now, and have never noticed their bellies turn as red as one of my females bellies has until now…
She doesn’t have Under tub heating but back heat…but to me it looks like a burn? But im not sure how that can happen?
She is a darker colored snake and i haven’t really seen her belly just before a shed (ive only had her a couple months and shes only shed once since i got her)…could the color contrast make it look worse than it is?
(I try to look over my snakes carefully once a week to make sure they all look good and make sure nothings wrong, i do check them daily and haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary)
As @noodlehaus Jess suggested, unless a picture is provided it very difficult to assess anything about your animal. If she is angry she may be in pain. Since you can’t post a picture for us the next best thing to do is make a reptile vet appointment. If it is a burn and it breaks open or starts to swell/ooze then an infection could easily arise.
I am not trying to scare you but it is always better to err on the side of caution. In other words, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
