Hi, new-ish MM seller here. However this is the first time a buyer has utilized the “buy now” Square payment button on a listing.
When I initially opened the order, I noticed there was an “Accept” or “Decline Transaction” (or something on those lines) option. I did not want to accept the transaction until I made sure the buyer was serious as they did not reach out prior to putting in the order. After the buyer got back with me I was going to let the order go through but the option to accept/decline was gone, and it just looks like this:
How does this work, does the transaction go through once I indicate the animal has been shipped?
Sellers have 24 hours to approve or decline the purchase, and it will be canceled automatically after that.
When you shipped the animal out, you would change the status to “Shipped”. This will automatically mark the animal as “Sold” and begin the rating process.

Yeah, I was aware of the 24 hour time limit; however, it hadn’t been 24 hours since the order was submitted and the accept/decline buttons were already gone.
In case anyone else had this issue - there was an issue with the buyer’s payment card for one reason or another and the Square transaction didn’t go through this way. I was able to send her an invoice directly from Square and we got things “squared away.” (pun intended

If you’re not able to approve the sale, it likely means there’s an issue with the payment card.

It sounds like things are okay as far as the buyer wanting the animal. So yeah I agree with what was said about a potential error on payment as @smallscalesrep mentioned
Just as an aside, because it’s been a more common occurrence as of late.
If you attempted to make contact and get no answer in a reasonable amount of time, I would suggest contacting the MorphMarket support team.
If this was indeed a payment error it could have been an attempt at scamming but they didn’t know how the system worked.
Or if they do respond and are being pushy…they are hoping you didn’t catch the transaction didn’t occur and are hoping you ship the snake asap.
