New to this website !
I’m thinking of buying a gecko from Eastern Europe to the UK.
Apologies if this sounds daft but I’ve never done this before. It says shipping is free. Are there any charges like import tax, would the animal be held at customs, etc. ?
Or is it just sent like any other parcel and so don’t have to do anything at my end ?? Anything else I should know?

Does the breeder you’re looking to purchase from list that they export to the U.K. on their store page? If not, you might not be able to purchase a gecko from them. There will be import/export permits or health certificates required, you can find GB specific information on live animal imports here:
It is highly unlikely they will offer free shipping on an export. Your best bet to get the proper answers to these questions is to send an inquiry to the breeder and ask directly.
