Can a ball python lighten their colors?

So, something kinda weird I discovered this morning. One of my female bps is really light in color compared to normal, her head is normally very dark brown but it’s washed out, so is her last third of the top of her body. This hasn’t happened gradually, she looked normal 3 days ago when I fed her. Any ideas?

Hormonal blushing most likely. Is she mature, have you paired her?

No she was paired last year and layed this years May. She’s almost 3 now.

Unless she looks to be in poor condition, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Oh ok just making sure it wasn’t a concern :slightly_smiling_face:

Is she a morph? Some morphs are know to undergo cyclic colour changes depending on time of day

None of those are cites as being colour-changers… Could be hormonal, could be environmental

Doesn’t GHI change colors depending on time of day?

To my knowledge yes, but I could be mistaken.

Yes, GHI is one of the best know for the colour change. I have seen it in RS, Cypress, and Woma as well.
