My question is can a female boa abort her own pregnancy like reverse it … Absorb the babies back into her system to not have them
I imagine it would depend on how far along she would be for stress to trigger a reabsorb v. a stillbirth, but most livebearing creatures other than humans can absorb or abort a pregnancy if conditions aren’t right
I second this. Depending how developed the ova are beforehand if they were fertilized.
If unfertilized, reabsorbed ova would be the more likely outcome I think.
That means I should have left the male in there even longer
There is no still birth yet … I should get an ultrasound done tho…
Is she overdue and that’s the concern?
Has she been building?
If you really haven’t seen a change in her…
Has the male been proven before?
Cause you can’t always know from one pairing if he’s got enough sperm count.
Otherwise not having him in long enough could definitely be a reason. But also consider if the female was stressed out for any reason as well. Even if it was leaving in the male for an extended period when she’s not receptive. Or if there was a big change in habitat or anything too.
Yeah she would have had them by now… Her colors aren’t so dark anymore…
