Hi everybody,
I got this amazing female, that has been gave to me as a Leopard Highway Pastel, but I’m quite sure that there is no pastel in her… but more that that, she has a matte-effect like, her colours are like when the colours of the body fades when a snake is near to shed time, but she is always like that, and the only gene that I have found, that gave to BP a similar effect, is hypo
What do you guys think?
Is it possibile that I’m right?
Thank to all of you that will answer ![]()
Sorry for my english, I’m still practicing![]()
Definitely looks to be Hypo. When the snake sheds there should be either nothing or a very pale pattern on the skin if it is hypo. Without hypo you would see the pattern very clearly, especially on the face.
Obviously if there is genetic testing available where you are, it would be the easiest way to verify for certain.
Did they give you any info on the parent’s genes?
Def looks Hypo to Me
Looks like a highway or freeway of some sort….
Super pretty animal!

I can confirm there is no Pastel in that animal.
I am not sure what you are seeing is actually Hypo. A significant number of Highway animals I have seen have that sort of “foggy” look to them when they are younger, leading me to believe it may be an artifact of the compound heterozygous combo
Thank you, this is exactly my doubt, if the foggy effect could be somehow related to the yb complex
