I have a Green African Toad and am looking to get another one to keep him company. If it is a female of similar size will they fight or try to kill each other? I have a 40-gallon tank with plenty of substrate, hiding places, and moss. And if it is a male of the same species can they still get along?

Yes, It should be perfectly fine. I have a 1.1 pair of American toads (same thing applies to both) and my female is at least double the size of the male. It seems that most toad speices don’t seem to mind being housed together regardless of their sex.
Here is a good place to get some more info on them.
