Can you use peet moss for a substrate for isopods

So i use peet moss for my worm farm and i was wondering if you can use it for the isopods substrate instead of like coco fiber it retains moisture really well i have misted it down once in like a week and the worms are thriving in it

In general I recommend against using peat moss in substrates because it’s absolutely terrible for the environment, to the point I feel it’s unethical to use unless absolutely required. Unsustainable is an understatement.

For my isopods I mix my own substrate, and most other isopod keepers do as well. I don’t use coconut fiber because the isopods can’t consume it and it doesn’t serve much purpose.

Exactly what ingredients you’ll want to include in the substrate will vary depending on the isopod species you’re planning to keep. I’ve posted down my ‘recipe’ before, let me see if I can find it and post a link.
