Carpet Python Heating

I’m gonna be purchasing a papuan carpet python in a couple of months, so I would like to know what the best sort of heat source for a carpet python is. Is a heat mat, heat lamp, radiant heat panel or something else?

I would say that these are going to be your best options. They don’t like it super warm. I have seen that some people personally prefer lamps with a higher ambient temperature so when the light is off it isn’t too cold.

I have used both ceramic heat emitters as well as radiant heat panels for my costal, the latter being a 120w panel in her current 6ft enclosure.

It is going to depend on how you are keeping it. If you are using a rack, back heat is probably best. If you are using a cage, most people traditionally use RHPs but I an an advocate of the new DHEs

Does DHE stand for deep heat emitter?
