Me to wife - “I wonder how hot the Ceramic Heat Emitter is”
Me - uses heat gun, shows 650 degrees
Me to wife - “Babe there is no way that can be 650 degrees”
Me - touches heat emitter
Narrator - “It was in fact, 650 degrees”
Moral of the story… dont be dumb like me

I wouldn’t personally use a CHE for a tank that small.

I’m with @ashleyraeanne on this one. Also wondering what wattage you have that it’s getting so hot?
Its a 75w on a dimmer. I have the basking spot at 89 right now

75w on a dimmer, mainly to get the ambient up. I have a UTH on a thermo at 89 on the hot side as well
