Chargeback Prevention and Seller Security

Chargebacks are an unfortunate risk when selling. We have created a few help guides to help prevent chargebacks, and to help you manage them if they do occur.

Chargeback Prevention
Many of the payment processors provide some sort of risk management options. Square DOES offer this, but it is something you need to enable on your individual Square account. We cannot do this for you.

Dealing with Chargebacks
Unfortunately, chargebacks can occur no matter what prevention steps you take. We did write another help article that details what to do when they occur: https://support.morphmarket.com/article/378-how-to-deal-with-chargebacks

Buyer Verification
We plan to have Buyer Verification available very soon (possibly even this week). This will be part of a paid buyer membership option. We will require it to be paid for a few reasons:

  • Volume: We simply do not have the manpower to verify every single user on the site.
  • Payment: Requiring an inexpensive membership will allow us to have a valid payment method on file for the buyer, which helps us verify their identity, along with a copy of their ID.

Question about Square integration and Risk Manager. How does Risk Manager work if Square Integration does not transfer customer and transaction info to Seller Square app with the payment?

Sorry for the delay here; I am discussing it with my technical team. At this time the risk manager rules related to Billing Address and Zip Code will not work (we are looking into this). They stated all other rules will with how we have integrated with them. Thanks!
