Hello everyone, it’s been a while. I’m still raising just one crested gecko and have become quite accustomed to its care. However, I’m currently concerned about cleaning the glass walls of the terrarium. I’ve been cleaning with water, but water stains aren’t coming off. I’m hesitant to use cleaning products for fear they might harm the gecko. Could you recommend any good cleaning products for glass terrariums?
I use a white distilled vinegar and water solution, about 50/50 and it cleans off the water and poop fine without harming my reptiles. I also use a glass scraper for any difficult messes on the glass and it doesn’t scratch the glass when cleaning. I’ve been using the vinegar/water solution for years with my reptiles and no health issues or concerns so far
You can’t beat vinegar and water. It doesn’t leave any streaking either. That’s what we used at Petsmart when I worked there.
If you have access to plain ole razor blades they work great for scraping the stuff off the glass. We used razor blades for scraping the scum/algae off the glass inside the fish tanks.
Absolutely. Its even more effective too if you use warm water! Just keep in mind this is not a good disinfectant, just good for removing grime and reducing some odors as long as you don’t mind the vinegar smell lol.
If you want something that disinfects you can use F10 solution.
