Clutch two final results

This was a joint project effort between myself and ‘InkyClouds’ - my female Acid Blackhead BlkPastel het Albino x her double het Candy Monsoon

WT

BlkPastel (this one seems to be one of those oddballs that skips their first shed)

Blackhead BlkPastel #1

Blackhead BlkPastel #2

And both of the Blackhead BlkPastels together as a comparison

Acid Blackhead

Acid BlkPastel #1

Acid BlkPastel #2

Both of them compared

And lastly, Acid Blackhead BlkPastel

Slightly bummed I did not get a single visual Candino, but still got some nice poss double hets. And we will be sending sheds in to Ben

Those are awesome!! Even the WT looks kind of black pastel-y with the shape of the alien heads and eyebrows above them

That one BlkHead BlkPastel with the chained pattern is most likely het for something if not monsoon and candy/albino.

I love what acid does to BlkPastel. It’s so funky looking

Still some great odds on the non-recessives. And even that wt has some really dark color and a neat headstamp

There are a lot of reports about Monsoon having a “visual het.” Equally, there are also a lot of people reporting that animals they bought based on nothing more than the “visual hets” appearance are not testing out to be het Monsoon. So… we may be looking at a case of a “hitchhiker morph” that was enriched in the Monsoon population in Dave’s collection the same way Blackhead had RedGene and RingerGene enriched in them when they first started coming out of Ralph’s collection

That’s fair! Het markers can be such a gamble when it’s an animal you haven’t produced yourself. I only have one animal I proved out because of different little signs I noticed and the breeder missed.
I’ve seen the talk of hypo hets being brighter but I have never seen that pan out in bps. One was frustrating because she is beautiful, but will take longer to reach my goal with, hahah.

I had a breeder say that one of my new noodles has ‘great markers’. I don’t have enough experience with the species or work with the gene to really bank on it. And they didn’t charge any different for the possible het anyway.
I am taking a gamble on a different one because of an odd trait tho, so we’ll see how that goes. :person_shrugging:

I just see that sort of chaining in my cinny/Blk pastel het pied group pretty often. It has proven out fairly often. The one I definitely want to test for in my last set of hatchlings is dbl het pied/VPI. I see the het pied and sandblast look I’m used to in one… But it could possibly also be the ax doing funny things too.

If anything I would love to know the results on that one regardless! And the wt too. I love that wacky headstamp.

I love the emerald iridescence on these babies. The #2 Acid Blk Pastel’s pattern craziness is really cool looking too, although lacking in Candino its still a really nice batch of babies!

My thoughts exactly, I don’t think I would have guessed that this animal was a normal! (Though I am very much a morph novice)

Gorgeous clutch @t_h_wyman I’m sure we’d all love updates as they grow and change! Any keepers for you from this group?

I am partial to the Acid Blackhead and the Acid Blackhead BlkPastel. If either test out to be het Albino/Candy they might be staying. And any that test het Monsoon will make their way back to Thomi
