Collection/ Breeding apps?

I’m not sure if this has been covered on here or not. I thought I’d check with everyone on here to see if they knew of or had any recommendations on a good app for Snake collections. I have this app called SnakeKeeper to keep track of feeding, age, length weight and notes like the Morphs. Apparently I have more snakes than they allow you to add on there. I figured if I had to get a different one I might find a better one from asking people that might have experience with using different ones.

Since all the best books have pics I’ll add one on here for you guys also

I currently use Husbandry Pro and love it. I pay about $5/mo for it which I always swore I would never do, but the functionality and ability to keep all of my animals/breeding/lineage/feeding/etc. info in one place is too good not to.

If you want something entirely free, I used to use Sneklog.

I haven’t gotten to play with it much yet, but the market side of MorphMarket has a husbandry tab now. It looks pretty thorough.
There’s also another tab for groups or racks as well you can fill.

HusbandryPro is a good one to use if you don’t mind paying a small monthly subscription.

Morphmarket actually recently released a new husbandry feature on their website/app that covers a lot of the basics of husbandry that you can use for free if you have an account

Good to know. If something is actually good and as useful as most claim I wouldn’t mind a bill. Most I’ve seen are just aimed at keeping track of feeding and names type stuff

Interesting I haven’t looked at that yet

I’m definitely going to check this out

I’m quite liking the MorphMarket Husbandry features, tbh. I’ve been a paper-and-pencil gal for ever, and I do still keep notes that way. But I LOVE that husbandry info for an animal can transfer with it if it’s sold. Love that the prospective pairings are ready to play with, straight out of the collection. Multiple mates can be compared for a specific individual. Actual data from first lock through eggs to hatchlings too their growth and health info, all right there. I’m really happy with it.

I’ll have to check out the MorphMarket feature. I only have 3 snakes, so it’s pretty easy to stay on top of things with just the calendar on my phone, but it would still be nice to have a way to track everything. Also wondering if I could use it for my spiders.

I haven’t checked out the MM husbandry features yet myself, as I don’t want to undergo the huge task of porting everything over from the app I already use.

I personally use ExotiKeeper. It’s a free app that I believe started as one for tarantulas and then branched out to cover all spiders, scorpions, centipedes, reptiles, amphibians, aquaria, and even has an other pet category. The developer is really awesome, I needed a feature the app didn’t have and when I contacted them, they added it. It does have ads, but for the most part they’re not annoying enough to impact my use too much. Getting a pop-up isn’t fun, but you can exit after about 5 seconds. They also have the option to donate for an ad free version.

I think so? My understanding is that if it’s an animal which MorphMarket deals with in its “categories,” it’s part of the Husbandry feature.

Neat! I’ve actually been playing around with the ExotiKeeper app @noodlehaus mentioned, and I really like it so far! I like that it has a bunch of categories for different kinds of exotics, and the features automatically change slightly depending on what makes sense for the category. The interface is pretty simple and intuitive too, which is nice. It even just gave me a reminder that one of my slings is due to eat today.

Interesting. There are certainly a lot of tools available these days. Got a feeling I am always gonna have a pencil and clipboard nearby, (can’t destroy that by dropping it or spilling water on it, right? Lol) but it’s surely good to have options.

I use the super-simple Reptile Buddy app since I have a very small collection. I did poke around in the Husbandry Pro app, and I liked the interface and features, but in the end I had no motivation to migrate even the basic data from Reptile Buddy into Husbandry Pro.

I really do like MM Husbandry because it offers a more streamlined and seamless data and records transition between keepers/buyers/sellers who use MM already. I know next to nothing about how importing and exporting data works, but the ability to move data out of one app and into another would be so useful. It seems like a big roadblock for larger-scale keepers and breeders from trying a different and potentially better app. :woman_shrugging::upside_down_face:

Me no speakum tech-ish, but I do get what you’re saying. For me personally, I had looked into various apps and e-methods in the past and simply hadn’t taken the time and effort to transfer all the handwritten records. I keep each animal’s data on a 3x5" index card and I know that I’m going to keep those anyway, regardless. I really liked the collection features on MorphMarket, and the way I could show bloodlines and family trees, even before the “Breeding,” “Offspring,” and “Husbandry” components were added. Once those were added, I’ve really liked using them. I have not gone back and entered husbandry data for what happened before that became live, though. Too many animals and too little time for that, lol. I do love that an animal’s records transfer with the animal when it’s sold.
