I realized I have so many photos of my beloved boy Gak, and I wanted them all in one spot so I can add to it every now and then. I plan to do this for at least my tarantula right now, and then eventually my future snakes
Thank you! He’s recovered super well from his recent impacted sperm plug, and he’s on a bit of a diet and some new vitamins. He’s cranky about the diet and we’ve had to learn to ignore the hungry puppy eyes, but other than that he’s doing amazing!
He has a spot collection on the top of his head that looks like a dopey lil smile and its just perfect on him I’ll tell him your kind words, he loves compliments!
I’m serious trying to give this guy 2 weeks of 2 different oral medications daily was the truest testament to my patience and self control I’ve ever experienced
He’s so wiggly we had to form a duo: mom held him so he couldn’t wiggle and I got bit trying to get the syring thing in his mouth haha!
His majesty having his booty inspected after a shed to ensure his sperm plugs shed out properly after his vet incident several weeks ago. Thankfully he has now had 3 successful full clean sheds, so his higher vitamin A regimen is saving the day!
Also fun fact, my mom (the hand in this photo) is WEIRDLY good at conditioning training my animals. If she wants to pick Gak up she just says FLY FLY as she approaches his tank. After about 2 weeks of this he understood and now lifts his belly off the ground for easy lifting if you complete the chant
She also tap trained my tarantula for fun so…she may be magic!
Also side note: this photo was taken while his underbelly was being inspected, in all other handling encounters his legs are all fully supported! He just doesn’t like his undergarments being looked at so he was wiggling, hence the odd positioning
