Coming Up: Getting back into Crested Gecko breeding 😄

Super excited to announce that I get to add to my projects list for 2026 and beyond

Got a trade deal going on for a 1.0 & 0.1 pair of proven CGs

0.1 Lilly White, previously paired to a stunning Tangerine male and still potentially retaining sperm. She just recently laid eggs a week and a half ago.

1.0 Emptyback Pinstripe Harlequin who is supposedly an excellent breeder and his past offspring are really stunning as well.

Just got to wait for weather to be optimal for them to arrive :face_with_peeking_eye:

Super excited for these guys!

Looks like I’ll be expecting these guys next Tuesday as long as temps hold up

They’re here!

I’m a bit late in announcing but they’re settling in now

The female seems to be maybe about 2 weeks away from laying so I’ll keep updates going as I monitor her.

Update on the Lilly Lady!

She’s seeming to be very close to laying, her eggs are visible in her tummy and I can feel them without even trying while handling her

Hopefully by the end of the week I’ll have 2 pearly whites from her in incubation :crossed_fingers:

Is it just me or are their crests bigger ?

I’m… not sure? Not that I’ve noticed anyway.

They do have nice structure though!

Aphrodite laid more eggs today, but I’m not confident that they are fertile.

Candling didn’t show any embryo ring or veins

Interestingly though they were stuck together like snake eggs, I don’t see that very often in CGs.

I’ll go ahead and incubate until I’m absolutely positive they aren’t viable. Good news is that I still have the one good egg from when she laid on Mother’s Day thats showing good progress! I might end up keeping the little one that hatches from that one.

how many reptiles do you have ?

Hehe… I’ll just list all of my animals lmao

14 Ball Pythons, 4 BP eggs in incubation and more on the way.

2 Hognose snakes.

2 Ribbon snakes.

3 Crested Geckos with one viable egg in incubation.

At this point I’m not entirely sure how many Mourning Geckos I have, I know for sure that I have at least 3 with 2 eggs incubating.

3 Brooksi Kingsnakes.

1 Gulf-Coast Toad.

1 Boa Constrictor Imperator.

1 Amazon Tree Boa.

1 Bearded Dragon.

2 aquariums full of Guppies.

1 dog.

1 cat.

Is it too off topic to ask your method of incubation for these? I have a rapidly growing trio, myself!

I’ve been desperately trying to get my girls to lay in removable containers so I can put the eggs in a dedicated hatchery but they refuse to use them :smiling_face_with_tear:

So basically they incubate at about 73-74°F at 68% humidity (thats at least what my Mourning Gecko enclosure parameters are)… they take a while to hatch. My girls are very good at hiding their eggs in the hardscape of their enclosure so realistically I could possibly have way more eggs than I’m aware of.

Lol, so essentially they’re more or less fine at room temp? Just comes down to finding them - a perpetual easter egg hunt! :joy:

Exactly

It took me months to find one of their laying spots and I think they might have moved laying spots in that time

I know they will incubate at room temp just fine as I’ve had 2 fully developed healthy babies hatch. I just don’t know a general timeframe, I’ve read they can go from 2-6 months though.

Seriously feels like these little gals are build for mayhem! Love my trio, and pain in the butt or not I’m excited for them to start laying!
