Concerned about egg size and hatching

I have 2 eggs that are 70 days old and have been incubating at 72-75 degrees F (room temp in my house). When I candle, both eggs are pretty dark inside as the baby is taking up much of the room. However, I have noticed a size difference between the eggs over the last couple weeks. My fear is that one of the eggs is too small and either is going to suffocate the baby or already has. the larger egg is about 85% full of baby and 15% you can still see the yellow/red veins etc. The smaller egg seems to be like 98% baby and I can only see a very thin line of yellow/red.

I know that some crested geckos do not form an “egg tooth” and end up dying in the egg. Is that what is occurring? Should I cut the egg/would a gecko even be fully formed at 70 days? Do I just let nature take its course and continue waiting? What would cause 1 egg to be large and another to be small?

Up until a couple weeks ago both eggs were the same size. I will post a photo of the two eggs side by side in the comments. Thank you in advanced for everyone’s input and expertise here.

The size of the egg doesn’t matter, the gecko will grow accordingly inside, some will have more fluid than others. However, if the eggs started out the same size and then after some time one appears smaller than the other it might be cause the egg has already died and stopped developing. It sometimes takes more than a month from the egg stops developing til it goes bad, so it can take a while to catch, I once had an egg that appeared to be developing as it should but then when it went bad and i cut it, it had clearly stopped growing within the first few weeks. Regardless, I generally always advise to just let it run its course, since there’s often a good reason the gecko didn’t hatch on its own. Always incubate til there’s no debate though, it might be nothing, sometimes the eggs are just different.

Giving an update that the egg I was concerned about just hatched! The baby gecko is healthy. Thank you @autumngeckos for responding

Congrats. Any pics?

I was going to say… If it was me I’d leave it be and let make take it’s course.
