I’m housing my 300ish gram baby in a 70litre on top of my adults 4x2 tank. The problem is that the heat coming up from the tank hes sat on is making the bottom of the entire tub read about 30c (86f) directly on the plastic.
Ambient air throughout tub is 25c
Warmside is running a heatmat w/ a hotspot is 31-33c (varies, 88 - 91f)
Are these temps good?
It should be 90 degrees on the hot side with the cool side around 78 degrees…….
I managed to solve it by propping a bit of cardboard under the cool side, its now 80f
Looks like you already figured out what I was going to suggest, which is to just put some air space between the two enclosures.
You could also try moving the smaller top enclosure so it’s sitting more on top of the cool end of the larger enclosure. That way it won’t be so close to the heating element(s).
