Crawl Cay boas

Got a question for the Boa lovers out there,

I’m thinking of adding a Crawl Cay boa to the collection,

Just wondering what the general consensus is on them?

I’ve read they’re pretty calm as the grow, and they’re general husbandry isn’t extremely far off BPs

I wouldn’t get one for months but just curious

Obviously they’re not quite the big boy boas but I like the menacing look they’ve got as a smaller snake

I don’t own the Crawl Cay boa locality but if that is what you like I say get one. Can’t go wrong with a boa as in my opinion boas are the best pet snake around. Just get a baby or a yearling this way when it’s adult you will know its quirks and won’t be afraid of it.

I know most small locality boas are more aggressive than the bigger locality boas.
It’s just natural as smaller animals are just worried about becoming dinner for bigger animals.

Until your new baby recognizes your scent as a safe place it will consider you a threat.

Make sure you post some pictures of your boa when you get it.

Here is a link to a care sheet I found. I skimmed through it and it seems like a fairly good one.
The only thing I don’t really agree with is a screen top for boa cages. Screen tops make you lose too much humidity and heat for boas. I like drawer rack systems or front opening cages.
I have owned boas for over 49 years.
