Crested gecko hatchling enclosure size

This is a good question and unfortunately I do not have an answer.

I have raised geckos both with & without UV as well as not constant UV but I haven’t seen any difference in growth or eating. Yes I do still think this is beneficial for geckos and it makes the enclosures look nice but I don’t have a definitive answer.

Hopefully someone else will chime in with a bit more detail

@ghoulishcresties the shoe boxes you have, can the cresties get out where you open the shoe box? If so, what are you using to close the gap? My boxes have a hole so I was using tape but someone said thats a bad idea. Do you have a photo of your setup? Id love to see. I need to change them to vertical so I will be doing that tonight.

Here is a pic of some of my baby set ups. The one on the right isn’t done yet. I cut up pipe insulation and stuffed them in the gap (glued in place)

Tape is bad as geckos could stick to it if starts to peel or something

They’re sideways, try turning them upright, gives them more room!

And yes I taped, I defo want to redo and glue mesh over though! :blush:
