My friend was asking what morphs these are and I am pretty sure I am right but I want to make sure I am before telling so I don’t give him the wrong info. The first 4 photos I think is an extreme harlequin partial Dalmatian, and the last four photos is a harlequin pinstripe? Am I right or not if I am wrong please tell how I am wrong?
First one seems to be a phantom dalmatian, second a whitewall partial pinstripe
These two photos are the gecko in the first four photos fired up where my friend adopted him from. Would still consider him phantom Dalmatian but would he also have yellow base or no yellow base. I was thinking white wall but I wasn’t sure. Why not any of the two be Harley? Why would the second be partial and not full what is difference between full vs partial vs reverse pinstripe just so I know to correctly identify in the future? What is extreme harlequin and harlequin since I thought they were both a Harley? What is difference between white wall and harlequin?
Yes definitely a yellow phantom, since he has no pattern at all. Whitewalls have solid white on their laterals, which is a different gene than normal white pattern on harlequins. If you don’t know the difference it can be hard to tell, but normal white pattern isn’t as solid, and aligns from the stomach and up, rather than from the middle of the lateral and down like whitewalls. Harlequins have moderate white and/or orange pattern on their laterals, and extreme harlequins have white and/or orange pattern on their laterals, all the way up to their dorsals. Your first guy has no pattern at all, making him a phantom, your second guy has the solid white pattern that aligns with the middle of his laterals and down, making him a whitewall. Your second is a partial pin because he’s lacking some scales on the pinstripe near the tail root, a full pinstripe would have pinstriping all the way up and down. Reverse pinstripe has little to do with actual pinstriping, and is when they have a dark line on the upper lateral, right underneath the pinning. Your second guy seems to have a bit of it as well.
@autumngeckos thank you I understand I still learning and I thought I had hang on it but I guess not didn’t know harlequin added in pattern or color to the animal. But now looking at harlequin versions of these do make sense why this guy and gal doesn’t have Harley.
