Crested gecko Not eating!

Hello everyone this is my first time posting here because I really need some help or confirmation. I have a crested gecko female, who is 3 years old. She recently stopped taking food, I am only feeding her Pangea at the moment, and she just suddenly stop. It has been a week and a half since she has eaten and I have no idea why she’s stopped. She still acts like her normal self and has had a good shed with no issues, she just has gotten a bit skinnier not any major weight loss. I am freaking out because she is my first ever Crested Gecko, I got her last December and I would hate to lose her!! I really could use someone’s experienced guidance!!

Have you checked for eggs? Some of my females stop eating around the time they lay their eggs, usually only before, but sometimes a little while after as well. Cresties usually don’t drop their weight very fast as their metabolism is pretty slow, so if you can visibly tell that she’s gotten skinnier in only a week and a half, it could very well be because she has laid some eggs somewhere

AutunmGeckos beat me to it.
I was also going to ask if it looked like she may have laid eggs. Even if she hasn’t been bred, sometimes geckos will just lay infertile eggs.

I will definitely check the dirt. Though the dirt in her enclosure is not really deep maybe an inch because I am preparing to make her enclosure bioactive soon.

And fertile! Parthenogenesis isn’t nearly as rare as we used to believe, so always check them before throwing them if you find any.

They’re also pretty good at hiding them, so it may not be obvious that she’s been digging. Just found a final fertile egg for the season myself that had clearly been lying there for a while, with no signs of digging. She started laying duds several months ago so i have no idea if it’s partho or from the male she was with as they can also store sperm for a while

I will defiantly check, but how do I know they’ve been fertilized? like should I wait a week or two if I do finds some eggs before I candle them?

In my experience the cherio usually shows up pretty quickly, I have never personally had an egg that didn’t show as soon as i collected them, though it’s not a bad idea to leave them for maybe 24 hours just in case. That is given that they look good though, you can often tell by the way they look and feel if they’re duds without checking for a cherio.

thank you so much for all your help, but if it turns out there’s no eggs is there something else I can possibly link her not eating too?

Temperature could be another thing to look at, lower temps usually means poor appetite. They can also sometimes reabsorb the eggs, but in that case, as is the case if you do find eggs, i would expect her to start eating again pretty soon
