hey guys just wondering i just bought a crested gecko and i want to know should i get a 18x18x24 tank and make a waterfall in the back corner and have a 5 inch pond at the bottom of the waterfall for him to drink

Water features are usually not a good idea in crestie setups since they get dirty really quickly, and the pumps often clog up, since the geckos like to defecate in the water. So it’s better to have a water dish that you can easily wash out.

Agree. It would be a mess.
If you really are set on the idea, I would consider making it a dripping wall that will water live plants as well. The gecko can drink off the rocks as the water drips down instead of a pool
For that you would absolutely need to custom build something with a false bottom and proper drainage to filter out the poop situation and consider a bioactive cleanup crew.
It’s basically a lot of work to get started. @_@
SerpaDesign is a YouTuber who does some amazing setups and a few of them include the drip systems. Maybe check out a couple of their builds.
