Crested Gecko Setups

I have been thinking about my future Crested Gecko plans, and I want to know how you guys keep your geckos.
I have my subadult male in a 12x12x18 tank, and my little one is in a 3 gal tank that I used to use for fish. I will be upgrading that soon, but I would love some ideas about how you guys keeps your cresties!

I like to spoil mine :smiling_face: I actually compiled supplies for a really long time, so that I could have a real nice enclosure. I keep mine in an Exo Terra 24x18x24. Here are some pics;

What bulb do you use in the light fixture, if I may ask. Beautiful set up!

I actually use a couple… an exo terra deep forest light, Amazon.com , and a exo terra repti glo 2.0 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00101JIA6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 , and the other one, was a daylight spectrum bulb that was in the house.

Thank you very much!

Hi. I’m sure it cresties will love an upgrade :grin:

I keep my adults & juvenile cresties in bioactive enclosures. I think they prefer it as first time I put them in there, most of them have buried themselves in the soil lol

I like to provide plenty of hiding and climbing options. I mostly use coconuts for hides (big hit the with most my cresties) and logs, cork bark, hand made bridges & I even have some pipe insulation for them to climb on. The pipe insulation was a lockdown buy as I couldn’t get anything else and just kinda stuck with it as it works well.

I love bioactive enclosures & would definitely recommend.

I’ll get some up to date pics of some of my enclosures today to send

Here are a few. Some of the plants I grew myself and aren’t fully grown, so I’ve used fake plants until they get bigger, while others are in need of a cut back but it’s too early in the year for that

Does anyone have any thoughts on my enclosure? It is a 17x16x21 inch enclosure. I know they are the most random dimensions.

It’s really good. Only thing i’d suggest is to add more coverage to the top, however the plants in there will grow with time :+1:

I always keep some fake hanging plants to hand so when I trim the plants down in spring, it isn’t left bare

You should be really proud of your setup, you’ve done well :+1:

There will always be something that can be improved, I’m forever looking at mine and thinking I should change stuff.
