Crested Gecko Sneezing

Hi there,
I have a 2 year old crested gecko that we got a few years ago. He has been very happy, eating, drinking and pooping well.

Over the past few weeks off and on, we have noticed that he has been sneezing and making loud squeeks when he sneezes. We looked at his nose for stuck shed (nothing), no crust by his nose, his breathing seems normal and not weezing or gurgling. He is still active and eating for what we can tell.

We spray him in twice a day, once heavily in the morning, the second heavily at night. The substrate seems to dry out quickly and we try to keep the humidity up with it often falling to 40-37% before the next sprits.

What can/should we be doing to help him? Is sneezing normal and if it is due to dry substrate how do you keep it properly moist without being too moist?

Thank you!

What kind of substrate do you use?

We use a combination of EcoEarth Coconut Fiber and zilla jungle mix with sphagnum moss.

Eco earth does tend to be very dusty if you let it dry out, and it dries out super unevenly ime, so that could cause sneezing in theory  You could try going full Zilla mix, and keep it moist (not wet), and see if that helps.
