Cypress spotnose

Anyone have problems with Cypress spotnose combos thinking of pairing Cypress leopard pastel clown to a banana pastel spotnose clown

I would recommend not doing this pairing. Cypress and spotnose are both in the spider complex, which means the allelic combo will have more severe neurological issues. Spotnose wobbles and super cypress wobbles, so while the combo offspring may not be lethal, they will likely have severe wobble.

I was under the impression that spotnose alone was fine and it was the super that had issues - is this incorrect?

Single gene spotnose wobbles. Not all of them are noticeable, but it does happen in single gene. I have seen it in person more than once.

That’s good info to know, thank you! I had some thoughts on working with some batman stuff in the future, but if that’s the case then I guess I’ll just have to find some other clown combos to work with if/when I go that direction.

It’s the reason I personally don’t work with spotnose at all. Don’t get me wrong, it’s pretty minor, but it does happen. I love spotnose, it’s gorgeous, but I’m just not comfortable producing it.

Completely understandable. I won’t breed anything myself if I know it has wobble, because even though some morphs make gorgeous combos and can have relatively normal lives, it’s just not something I want to proliferate, especially with its unpredictability. I have a rescue ball that’s a mystic spider, and her wobble is a constant reminder of why.
