Day time/Night time

Hi everyone just looking for some advice please if possible? There is no ball python currently in the vivarium its just pre setup, heat source is a deep heat 50w Arcadia projector, Uvb is the Arcadia forest 6%, and a 22w jungle dawn Led, vivarium size is 4ft x 2ft x 2ft, here are my current stats pictured below, my question is do i need a night time heat source or can i just dim the daytime one down? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would not keep a light on at night, they’re a nocturnal species. So you would either want a lightless heat source for night, or if the room they’re in is going to stay warm enough you could probably go without

The lights go off yes but the infrared heat source would remain on for the night-time heat aswell as the daytime if you get me?

If you’re using a deep heat projector, those don’t produce visible light, so if you turn off your lights but leave the DHP on at night, that should be fine.

Thank you jawramik

If it’s the deep heat projector you’re referring to, then yes that’s fine. It doesn’t produce visible light

So this isn’t a ceramic heat source and it produces red light? Your future BP will still be able to see the light this way. A ceramic that produces no light would be a better heat source.

I have a 4 x 2 x 2, and I use a 100w dhp on a dimming thermostat, as well as an Arcadia jungle dawn led bar for the plants. Temps are right where they need to be, and that’s all I use.

Pretty sure they’re referring to a DHP, as that’s the only heat source they mention in the OP.

Though @danjcsmith85 if I’ve misunderstood and you are using a red heat lamp, definitely ditch the red lamp and just stick with the DHP.

Yeah, most likely it doesn’t. I just wanted to make sure because I have seen a few fixtures with red light on the market more regularly where I am. I actually picked up an Eco Gold not too long ago which is a deep heat projector with red light
