so i’m making a tank setup for my blue death beetles and i want a bio active background.
they live in a dry red desert vibe giving off this vibe
i know and been looking up the basics to do i just desperately need inspiration because like jungle background have it of wood, and im struggling to come up with idea, even like a drawing concept quick and easy would be great

Are you on Facebook? If so, look for the ‘Polygem Zoopoxy Vivarium Construction’ group. There are a lot of guys that have made desert vivaria in there
You can also look for ‘Brad’s Bioactive Builds’ (I think that is the name) on YouTube
You can coat the background in spray foam, carve it to look like rocks, coat the foam with silicone, and then give it a coating of red dirt/sand. The sand/dirt should stick pretty firmly to the silicone, which would create a cool 3D background that looks like desert rocks.
…full disclosure, I have never made a background with this method, but I’m pretty sure that this is the process I’ve seen several people on YouTube use, with results that looked good.
