Is that a horrid king assassin bug?? (Has to be one of the coolest common names ever.) I knew they got big, but now seeing one on a human hand, I didn’t realise they got THAT big!
I hope he didn’t nail you with that nasty proboscis!

It’s called an Assassin Bug. Bites come with intense pain that usually lasts a couple hours and often swells up pretty bad.
Surprisingly this subspecies isn’t inclined to bite unless you push them.
Sure is. They aren’t very inclined to bite so it’s safer than it looks lol.
