Let them out to have a run around cant beleive size of dilo compared to arlo the beardy, no fighting or threats so all went well
lol these little guys are awesome.
I was dubious what would happen ready to grab 1 but it was a chinese standoff to see who would blink first lol
Dilo was taking “I am the boss around here”! stance!
Aye he does do at tbf the beardie arlo takes no nonsense if it feels threatened but never does but it can fairly puff itself up if it does it blows itself up like a puffer fish lol
I do not recommend that at all.
You shouldn’t mix them, not even for a photo. If it got nasty, then you’ve got injured liztads or worse.
People please do not think this is ok to do. Many have tried and it’s gone very wrong!
Sorry but it didnt, im literally sittin right there ready to lift 1 i can read the signs the give off before a confrontation and quick enough to grab 1
Not like I’m organising lizard fights for amusement relax
Dont want to get in trouble with community support over someone with a different opinion so delete the post if you want, other stuff i have been flagged up on have been understandable but ats a bit to far, i could go through this website an literally find reasons to comment on loads of people’s posts saying you shouldn’t do this or do that
You know your animals like no one else does. I do not see anything wrong (irresponsible) with this post whatsoever.
People posting photos of their red stained animal literally swimming in mulch - now that’s irresponsible in my book.
I do agree that knowing one’s animals is the crucial thing in getting them out and potentially getting them together. It’s worth bearing in mind that reptiles can be insanely quick if they do shift into aggression. I don’t know enough about this species to speak about the specific risks here. There are certainly some species where it’s never safe.
Ive had them from babies n arlo the beardie will puff up, dilo would throw his frill up if he got scared and thats just to scare a would be attacker off but if anyhing he would stand up and run off its just a front they do, it was literally only about 30 seconds to a minute i was right there sitting on the floor the child wanted to see her bearded dragon with it i would have had 1 grabbed in no time, now a wouldnt have put puff my small frilled lizard anywhere near the beardy could get seriously hurt if it was bit, ers not much size difference in dilo an arlo if I was to lock them in a tank together it would be a different story lol someones always quick to jump to a worst case scenario lol and arlo the beardie is really docile she’s female and easy going but its still stressing putting different species together so i always keep it short, but youl find lots videos online different lizards around same size having interactions with eachother, 1000s of videos of beardys runnin around the house with cats which are predators lol
And i have had 2 fully grown monitor lizards thats the kind where it’s a big no no putting any other reptile near them whatsoever lol
No explanation necessary!
