I just got this girl a few days ago from someone on Offer Up. He said she’s an albino but I can see she’s not because she doesn’t have red eyes. I used Google and it came up with a Blue Eyed Leucistic but her eyes aren’t blue, I thought they were black until I took some photos. They are silver/grey and really pretty! She is all white and doesn’t have any trace of pattern on her that I can see. Not even under a black light/ UV light. I’d love to hear what any of you think about what she could be. I really am excited about raising her no matter what she is but knowing is always better.
Looks like a BEL, very pretty! I’d switch out that red light, total myth snakes can’t see it, it’s like the equivalent to keeping the overhead lights on constantly in your house, can’t get good sleep with it. I’m not familiar with BEL combos and what the UV markings look like but if I remember correctly things like super Mojave have no markings it that peek through usually
I didnt know that markings showed up in uv would that work on an albino to i have a albino with possible enchi and pastel i havent done a shed test for yet
I absolutely love her eyes
The UV markings on BEL BPs can be really neat depending on what genes they have. Super Mojave and Lesser special show up. Lesser Mojave usually doesn’t
Super Mojave Blue Eyed Lucy usually have grey faces so it wouldn’t be that.
This is most likely to be a Mojave Lesser, possibly a Mojave Russo or Lesser Russo.
You can always consider having testing done on their next skin shed. They have a BEL complex test that can figure out exactly which genes are there if you want.
Otherwise they’re just awesome little guys. I have a couple different BELs. =)
Thanks for the info. In the short time I’ve had her she has shed and taken a meal. I also gave her a warm bath the night she arrived.
Really, wow. I love all of my red lights. I have 7 snakes and some are just led lights others are for heat. Her light is heat, maybe I should switch to a ceramic heat emitter.
Welcome to the community! Your new snake is lovely.
Yeah, really. You definitely need to be turning out those lights at night so that the snakes can have better sleep and a solid day/night cycle. If the light is your only source of heat for some, I would choose a different type.
I am awaiting the results!
Cool! When they arrive Let us know what you ended up with =D
