I got lucky with my BPs, they were both on live mice before they were with me and they ended up both taking F/T rats, which makes me happy. My female banana is a pig, she’ll look out from her hideout every morning seeing if i have food for her
I love corn snakes for their disposition and their wonderful genetic pallet. Their flexibility and adaptability with husbandry is a great bonus. I also love that their coloring stays beautiful all their lives.
Thought of a couple other snakes I adore. I’m a big fan of the little green snakes I used to play with who lived in our pastures. They don’t usually do well in captivity, though. I did keep one overnight once to take to show and tell, then released him back in his home the next day. My mom was a nervous wreck for the whole 24 hours.
I also adore rainbow boas! Never had one, but they’re gorgeous.
Thats a plus too for the AMK and greeni i have, too. Easy husbandy! I havent had to adjust their humidity at all or give them a humid hide and they been having perfect sheds. One thing i didn’t realize is that they go potty more than the balls do
I have three snakes, a Kenyan sand boa, a blood python, and a BI. The only one who won’t drop feed is the BI. She loves to eat, but she seems to be much more visual in how she finds prey, so she really needs it to move to identify it as food. The blood python and the sand boa both seem able to find and identify their prey with just smell, so they’ll happily pick up a f/t rodent off a dish. The one time I tried to drop feed the BI, she just frantically searched around her enclosure for about 15 minutes and then gave up. She could clearly smell the rodent, but she couldn’t hone in on it when it wasn’t moving.
