Having dealt with sewing leather for many years, Iā€™m going to say stamped leather. Very nice work, whomever did it!

Thatā€™s something I have been really interested in for many years too. For my own reason and that my wife is a seamstress and has to refuse certain heavy leather work. Donā€™t you need kind of specialise kind of industrial equipment?
All my thick leathers I have wanted to adjust have been a problem for commercial tailors.
Besides very thick normal leather clothing, I even have a bison leather jacket and a camel belt.
A bit slight off topic but does it have to be by hand if you donā€™t have specialised machinery?
How do you do it?

I normally hand stitch. Takes a lot more time and work, but itā€™s worth it. Havenā€™t done any for awhile, but Iā€™m about to get back into it. Iā€™ve hand sewn some think stuff. Gonna get a Juki TL18 machine and start machine sewing a lot.

Sorry mate Harley Davidson made them, but when we had patches sewn on our thick leather waistcoats the shop we took them to said she just used a thicker stronger needle.
Other than that I donā€™t know Iā€™m afraid :sunglasses:

Thank goodness, I saw an animal cruelty video on how snakes are killed by the hundreds to take their skin and it brought me to tears. I canā€™t believe people could do that to an innocent animal, if you donā€™t know how they kill the snakes in the snake skin market I suggest you proceed with HIGH caution when searching it on YouTube, cause it broke my heart and I would NEVER have anything snake skin in the first place but even more so now.

I know that there are some makers that use already deceased animals pets for leather, as a remembrance thing for the owner.

No we exactly the same, we live for our animals and canā€™t abide animal cruelty of any kind.

Yes when I lost my first snake at 11 years I wanted to preserve it in an acrylic bock to remember it. Didnā€™t have the fanatical resources to though at 11.

Agreed. But what about not wasting the animal if it died naturally or died for food to keep us alive?
Many sustainable cultures use the whole animal so there is no waist. (few Morden cultures though )
Unlike ours, those cultures, sustain the animals, and our environment.

You bring up a good point here, and I agree these practices are somewhat fine, I just wanted to bring up how cruel the ā€œmodernā€ snakeskin industry is just to make people aware of what goes on. Thank you for bringing this up though, Iā€™m definitely not against using an animal for food ( I am not a vegan just to make this clear). But killing a healthy animal (usually inhumanely) and using it for fashion purposes is wrong. If the animal died of natural causes and you choose to say have it made into a purse and plan to wear it out in public, I personally wouldnā€™t want people seeing it and thinking ā€œthatā€™s cool I want a snakeskin purseā€ and then they go and support snakeskin manufacturers. Sorry for the long reply, just trying to get my point through.
