My favourite thing to do with my snakes is just to handle them and hang out with them. I love just chilling on my bed with one of my snakes out while I watch a movie or working from home. Love watching them explore and be curious.
In theory I like taking pictures, but the pictures I take never seem to do them justice.

I love taking photos of them and gushing about them on Instagram.

Aren’t blood pythons aggressive ?

Not really. They can be defensive when fearful, like any snake, and they typically have high prey drives, which can be mistaken for aggression. Additionally, their body language is different from most other snakes, so the way they indicate they’re upset and getting ready to strike just looks different from what most people expect. I think a combination of these factors have made them misunderstood and have given them a bad rap they don’t really deserve.
That said, they are also heavy, powerful snakes with an extremely fast strike, so they do deserve to be respected. It’s important to learn how to read them if you’re going to work with them.
My blood python is lovely. She’s tap trained to manage the feeding response, and I’ve learned to read her moods, so we get along great. I took a few nips when she was a baby, but she’s grown into a very sweet, if occasionally slightly huffy, adult.
